110 kV Piła Krzewina – Miasteczko Krajeńskie power line, Poland

Construction of the 110 kV overhead power line Piła Krzewina – Miasteczko Krajeńskie

15 min

The construction of this high voltage line has been in the investor's plans for over 30 years. Eltel Networks implemented this plan. What's more, we built this power line and connected it to voltage within a very short time of 12 months. We performed our work to the highest standards, as evidenced by the fact that each as-built inspection was carried out faultlessly.

Construction of a new 110 kV overhead power line Piła Krzewina – Miasteczko Krajeńskie – eltelnetworks.pl

LINE DETAILS

  • over 10 km of overhead line
  • 800 m of cable line
  • 40 new lattice towers
  • reconstruction of 5 collisions with MV and LV power lines

CHALLENGE

Eltel Networks, based on the winning tender, started to build a new 110 kV power line from Piła Krzewina to Miasteczko Krajeńskie substation. In total, we built 10.5 km of overhead line and 800 m of cable line. The tasks of #ZałogaEltelNetworks included:

  • construction of 22 prefabricated foundations and 18 pile foundations
  • construction, delivery and assembly of 40 lattice towers
  • delivery and installation of insulation on 40 towers
  • tensioning of phase and fibre optic cables over a length of 10.5 km
  • construction of 800 m long cable sections to Krzewina and Miasteczko Krajeńskie substations
  • introduction and connection of fibre optic lines and cables with the 220/110 kV Piła Krzewina substation and the Miasteczko Krajeńskie substation
  • cutting down trees and bushes
  • installation of the Dynamic Line Load system
  • liquidation of 5 collisions of MV and LV power lines with the 110 kV overhead line Piła Krzewina - Miasteczko Krajeńskie
  • obtaining the right to land with 125 owners in the form of a transmissioneasement and Article 124 of the Spatial Management Act
  • obtaining a decision on environmental conditions

During the implementation of the investment, a significant challenge turned out to be the fact that half of the overhead line, i.e. from pole 20 to pole 40 towards Miasteczko Krajeńskie substation, was built in the Noteć Valley, in very restrictive natural areas. The original decision on environmental conditions assumed the performance of tasks only in the period from October 15 to March 1. This caused significant technological difficulties in the construction of 18 pile foundations, including the drying time of concrete for caps.

The investment in the construction of the 110 kV Piła Krzewina - Miasteczko Krajeńskie overhead power line was carried out in the period of high inflation, which resulted in a significant increase in the costs of its implementation. Eltel Networks temporarily covered these costs - despite the enormous financial burden – to fulfil the implementation contract.

Despite the difficulties encountered and unplanned periods of waiting for administrative decisions, which resulted in the postponement of some works and an additional increase in costs, the full commitment and professionalism of #EltelNetworksTeam enabled us to build a new power line and connect it to voltage in a record time of 12 months.

EFFECT

The construction of a new 110 kV power line from the Krzewina substation to the Miasteczko Krajeńskie substation ensured bilateral power supply for the Miasteczko Krajeńskie commune, and thus a significant increase in the energy security of this region. The investment we made is even more important, because it is directly connected to the Miasteczko Krajeńskie substation, which was rebuilt a few years earlier.
During the implementation of this project, we applied the principle of internal acceptance before partial acceptance by the investor. The result of this approach was the acceptance of each stage of work without any significant defects recorded in the acceptance protocol
